THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

There are the books everyone has heard about: Twilight, Hunger Games, & Fifty Shades of…What was that again?. But what about all those books written by people you’ve never heard of or only kind of heard of? Some of them are treasures, just waiting to be found, and that’s what this blog hop is all about: the books you might not have heard about, but that you might end up loving.

This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in progress, so here’s a little info about my current project:

1: What is the working title of your book?
Painting Fire on the Air

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
The idea came from images I saw of a fire flogging demonstration performed by the incomparable Tony Buff and his husband Chris Yosef. As a submissive, I was naturally curious about the experience, of which Chris described it as “the breath of God”. Once I found out my very good friend Drake Jaden had filmed a similar experience, I worked with him (along with Steel Mill Media owner Dire Callahan) to arrange a screening and interview them for specific detailing.

The real stroke of inspiration came when the character Ben told me that he was, in fact, the older brother of Juliette Martin from my recent release Aaron.

 

 

3: What genre does your book fall under?
Gay contemporary romance, Gay BDSM

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
My actors may not be ones you’ve heard of, so I’ll include images.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Benjamin Martin has a compulsion—to punish himself through BDSM for failing his sister when she needed him most.

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I have two publishers interested in the project.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I work on several projects at once, so it’s difficult to give you a specific timing on one or another.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Finding Eden by Kele Moon

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Drake Jaden—a sweet, adorable gay adult model with a beautiful outlook on life, and a fierce friend.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
The cover is absolutely gorgeous including Drake Jaden and Phillip Aubrey.
